Section 5 Youth Representative

Matthew and Emily Martin reside in Montgomery, WV in the Upper Kanawha Valley region. They were married in 2018 and attend Glen Ferris Apostolic Church, pastored by Reverend Chad Smailes. At GFAC, Matt and Emily serve on the ministry team as Youth Pastors and are also involved in the music department and Wednesday night children’s church where the youth lead the lessons and activities. Currently, Matt holds a Local License with the West Virginia/Western Maryland District of the United Pentecostal Church International.

In addition to ministry, Matt is employed at Mountain Transit Authority where he is the Mobility Officer. At MTA, he creates new business opportunities to serve the local communities. He also leads the State Opioid Recovery Service where he assists those in recovery in providing transportation to recovery meetings and rehab facilities. He earned his Associates Degree in Diesel Technologies in Applied Science and holds his certification as a welder. 

Emily is a 2018 graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersburg where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She earned her Master’s of Degree in Trauma and Resilience in and Educational Setting in 2020. She is employed by Kanawha County Schools as a fifth-grade teacher. 

Matt and Emily Martin have a heart for youth and hyphen and consider this a great privilege to serve the young people of the West Virginia/Western Maryland District!
