Matthew & Emily Martin
WV/WMD DISTRICT YOUTH President
Matt and Emily Martin reside in Montgomery, WV, in the Upper Kanawha Valley region. They were married in 2018 and have two children: Ezekiel and Kennedy. They attend Glen Ferris Apostolic Church, pastored by Reverend Chad Smailes. At GFAC, Matt and Emily serve as the Youth Pastors. They are also involved in the music department, and B-Free recovery program. Currently, Matt holds a General License with the West Virginia/Western Maryland District of the United Pentecostal Church International. He served as the Section 5 Youth Representative for four years. During his time as a youth representative, he helped organize various events, including sectional rallies, CCYC, Project 35, and church camp.
In addition to ministry, Matt is employed at Mountain Transit Authority as a Fiscal and Procurement officer. He earned his Associate’s Degree in Diesel Technologies in Applied Science and holds his certification as a welder. Emily is a 2018 graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersburg, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Trauma and Resilience in an Educational Setting in 2020. She is employed by Kanawha County Schools as the Trauma Specialist.
